Nathan The Pittsburgh Metro FOOLS would like to offer its condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of Brother Nathan Burnfield of the Canton Township Volunteer Fire Department in Washington County. Brother Burnfield was killed on Tuesday, November 4 while on duty as a police officer with the South Strabane Police Department at a car accident on I-70. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nathan, his family and friends during this sorrowful time. Game Success! The Pittsburgh Metro FOOLS hosted a charity hockey game against the "Vollies" on Sunday, June 15 at the Bladerunners in Warrendale, PA to raise money for Jason Davies, a firefighter from Highland Volunteer Fire Department of the Town of McCandless. Jason was shot in the face by another hunter while he was bow hunting in Indiana Township. He is currently blind in both eyes and suffers other injuries to his body from attempting to block the bullets. The shooter fled the scene and has not been found.
A total of $1,892 was raised to help Jason and his family. Jason will possibly need a lifetime of medical care to not only attempt to regain his eyesight but learn to function while he is without it.
