The Pittsburgh Metro FOOLS was organized in 2002 by Rapid Intervention Training Associates to preserve the tradition of the Fire Service and to honor those that have gone before us. It is our hope to make the Pittsburgh Metro FOOLS Chapter the largest FOOLS Chapter in the Country and to be active in both our communities and the Fire Service through community service, continued training and brotherhood.

Another Charity Hockey
Game Success!

The Pittsburgh Metro FOOLS hosted a charity hockey game against the "Vollies" on Sunday, June 15 at the Bladerunners in Warrendale, PA to raise money for Jason Davies, a firefighter from Highland Volunteer Fire Department of the Town of McCandless.

Jason was shot in the face by another hunter while he was bow hunting in Indiana Township. He is currently blind in both eyes and suffers other injuries to his body from attempting to block the bullets. The shooter fled the scene and has not been found.

A total of $1,892 was raised to help Jason and his family. Jason will possibly need a lifetime of medical care to not only attempt to regain his eyesight but learn to function while he is without it.

Brothers and Sisters,

Well here we are 3 months into a new year and it has been a busy one so far. We have been working hard on planning a couple of events over the next couple of months.

We were very fortunate to get hooked up with the Highland Fire Dept. and the McCandless Fire Marshall to co-sponser a seminar with Billy G. on April 24th. We are planning on having a booth set up with Fools merchandise and membership apps. to try for some new members.

Also we have our annual charity hockey game with the Pittsburgh Fire Fighters. All proceeds of this game will go to the family of Fire Fighter Brad Holmes who died tragically earlier this month, our deepest condolences to the family from the FOOLS.

Burn camp will be upon us soon , as information comes available I will keep everyone up to date. And the Pittsburgh Fire Expo has moved to September, which we have a booth for to raise some money and show off the good things that we do. To go along with the expo, the Brotherhood Bash is in the early planning stages.

Hook and Ladder Brewing who came on as a sponser for the Fools last year in which we recieve a percentage of their product sold has just sent us a check for over $300.

And last the Fools hockey team, d league champions last season has moved up to c league, not quite as good a season so far but still having fun.

If anyone is available and willing to help with events listed above, please contact me at 125bigdog@comcast.net

Stay safe,
